Dr. Prasanna Karki (FOUNDING MEMBER- GENERAL SECRATERY)

Dr. Prasanna Karki is a board-certified neurosurgeon and neurointerventionist in Nepal, with over seven years of experience in the field. She earned her MBBS from Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital in 2009 and completed a five-year neurosurgery training program at Kagoshima University, Japan, in 2015. In 2022, she further specialized by completing a one-year clinical fellowship in neurointerventional surgery at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand.

Dr. Karki’s expertise includes both open and minimally invasive treatments for cerebrovascular disorders, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cavernous malformations, stroke, and skull base tumors. She has held positions as a neurosurgeon at Annapurna Neuro Hospital and as a neurosurgeon and lecturer at Nepalgunj Medical College. Currently, she serves as an Associate Consultant and Neurointerventional Neurosurgeon at Nepal Mediciti Hospital.

Throughout her career, Dr. Karki has made significant contributions to medical literature, with over 27 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals. Her professional affiliations include memberships in the Nepal Society of Neurosurgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Japan Neurosurgical Society, the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, and the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies.

Her dedication to advancing neurosurgical care in Nepal is evident through her clinical practice, research contributions, and commitment to medical education.
